PARIMA’s Third Regional Conference in Mumbai Draws Strong Industry Participation

The Pan-Asia Risk and Insurance Management Association (PARIMA) held its third regional conference in Mumbai on June 13, 2025, at The Leela Mumbai – Resort Style Business Hotel. The conference, titled “The Risk Generation,” brought together over 200 risk managers, insurers, brokers, and industry experts from across Asia-Pacific for a full day of valuable knowledge sharing and networking.

Supported by nine partner sponsors, the event featured Aon and Prudent as Platinum Partners, with AXA XL, FM Global, and ICICI Lombard joining as Gold Partners. Allianz Commercial, Gallagher, Howden, and Marsh were associated as Silver Partners. With a lineup of over 30 speakers representing diverse industries and areas of expertise, the conference agenda centred on emerging risks—their root causes and how today’s risk professionals can navigate them effectively in an increasingly dynamic environment.

The conference began with a keynote session titled “Managing Risk in the Risk Management Industry – Can We Do More?” by Hitesh Joshi of the General Insurance Corporation of India, followed by a session titled “Enabling Better Decisions Through AI-Driven Insights” by Terence Williams of Aon. The afternoon featured talks such as “Emerging Supply Chain Risk Amidst Changing Geopolitical Scenario Coupled with Tariff Vulnerability” by Sujoy Maitra of ICICI Lombard and “Tomorrow’s Risks – When Insurance Alone Isn’t Enough” by Sumit Khanna of FM. Samuel Bye of AXA XL spoke about “Cybersecurity in India’s Industrial Revolution: Safeguarding Smart Factories and Power Grids,” while Soumya Shukla of ElpeeCo highlighted Surety Bonds. The closing session, “Renewable Energy Vs. Climate Change: A Two-way Risk Equation”, was jointly presented by Chetan Kashyap and Deepak Madan from Prudent.

The conference closed with the third iteration of the Next-Gen Risk Takers Challenge, which provided a lively forum for young professionals to propose their ideas to a live audience. PARIMA President Annacel A. Natividad praised the conference’s return to Mumbai and its success in building valuable cross-industry linkages.
