ONGC Appoints Vivek Tongaonkar as Director & CFO

The Board of Directors of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited has approved the appointment of Vivek Chandrakant Tongaonkar as Director (Finance). Further, the Board of Directors has also designated Tongaonkar as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from July 2, 2024, in place of Devendra Kumar.

Vivek Chandrakant Tongaonkar, 58, started his career as an Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) in the company in March 1987 and worked in the Engineering & Construction Division during the first decade of his career. He has over 37 years of professional experience in diverse activities across the energy value chain. He was Head of Investor Relations Cell of ONGC. He held the position of CFO, ONGC, from April 2021 to December 2021. Prior to his appointment as Director (Finance), he was Director Finance and CFO of MRPL. He is also the Chairman of Mangalore Special Economic Zone Limited (MSEZL), an ONGC Group company. He is an engineering graduate from the College of Engineering, Pune, and completed an MBA (Finance) programme at the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune.
