Oberoi Realty reappoints Vikas Oberoi as MD Appoints Prafulla Chhajed as ID

On May 14, 2024, the Board of Directors of Oberoi Realty Limited approved the appointment of Prafulla Chhajed as an additional Director in the category of Independent Director for five years, with effect from May 14, 2024. The Board also approved the reappointment of Vikas Oberoi as Managing Director for five years, with effect from December 4, 2024. Subject to the approval of the members of the company.

Prafulla P. Chhajed also serves as an Independent Director of the State Bank of India, Allcargo Terminals, and a few other companies. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a member of CPA Australia. He is President of the Confederation of Asia and Pacific Accountants (CAPA), Malaysia (2023–25). He is also Chairman of Multi Commodity Exchange Clearing Corporation Limited (MCXCCL).

He holds an ICAI certificate on forensic accounting and fraud detection and a Certificate on Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR). Chhajed was the President of ICAI (2019–20) and was Chairman of the WIRC of ICAI (2007–08). In the past, he has served as an Independent Director of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) and as a member of the primary market advisory committee of SEBI. He has served as Director of the ICAI Accounting Research Foundation, Director of the Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals of ICAI, Director of the ICAI Registered Valuers Organisation, and Director of the Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) in India. He was Chairman of the Executive Committee of the 2022 World Congress of Accountants, constituted by IFAC. He has served as an Independent Director at SBI Mutual Fund Trustee Company and as an Independent Director of GIC Housing Finance. He has served in various capacities for national and international organisations such as SAFA, the IFAC SMP Committee, CA Worldwide, the Integrated Reporting Council, etc.
