No RBI appointed Director on RBL Board now, as Dayal’s term ends

The Reserve Bank of India had appointed Yogesh K. Dayal, Chief General Manager of RBI, as an Additional Director on the Board of RBL Bank for a period of two years, with effect from December 24, 2021, to December 23, 2023, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Accordingly, Yogesh Dayal’s term ended on December 23, 2023. This is seen as a positive development, as the RBI no longer sees a need to have a nominee Director on the bank’s Board.

Over the last two years, the bank has undergone a leadership change as its founding CEO, Vishwavir Ahuja, was nudged to leave. In July last year, former MD and CEO of the public sector Indian Overseas Bank, R. Subramaniakumar, took over as the new CEO.

Yogesh K. Dayal is the Chief General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI); he has also served on the J&K Bank Board. He has completed his AMP in Advanced Management from the International Management Institute (IMI), an M.B.A. in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from the University of Rajasthan, and a Diploma in Banking Technology from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
