NALCO Appoints Trupti Patel, Sanjay Patel & Dr Ajay Narang As Independent Directors
National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise and the largest integrated Bauxite-Alumina-Aluminium complex in Asia, has announced the appointment of three Independent Directors to its Board. The new members are Trupti Kamlesh Patel, Sanjay Kumar Patel, and Dr Ajay Narang.
Trupti Kamlesh Patel has worked for ten years in the private sector under architectural guidance. She served as Joint Treasurer of the State Mahila Morcha and as Secretary of DAMINI Women’s Foundation, an NGO. She was also an observer in the Human Rights Association for Protection, D.N.H. & Daman Diu, and serves as a paralegal volunteer with the State Legal Services Authority, Daman. Her work includes initiatives related to women and children. From November 2021 to November 2024, she was an Independent Director on the Board of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). She has experience in both professional and social roles. Patel holds a diploma in civil engineering from Gujarat Technological University (GTU).
Sanjay Kumar Patel has been serving as the Chairman of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC), Khambhat, since 2018. He is also the President of Ralej Kedavni Mandal, Ralej. In addition, he has been a Syndicate Member of Sardar Patel University since 2018. He has experience in roles related to agricultural governance and educational institutions. Patel is a graduate in science (chemistry) from Gujarat University.
Dr Ajay Narang is currently leading his company’s healthcare venture, Samagra Care, which focuses on expanding access to timely and equitable healthcare services in Tier-2 urban areas of India. He has more than thirty years of experience in industry and business, having worked in the United States and India and served on the Boards of several companies. He began his career in the manufacturing and supply industry and later managed a struggling small-scale industrial unit involved in LPG cylinder production. Dr Narang is a qualified allopathic general physician and holds a bachelor’s degree in science.
