MRPL’s MD Mundkur Kamath Appointed as CEO

Mundkur Shyamprasad Kamath, Managing Director of Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited, is appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from March 22, 2024.

Kamath has been serving as Executive Director (Refinery) of MRPL so far and has been appointed as MD in February 2024. Kamath has over 30 years of experience in the downstream hydrocarbon industry. Earlier, he held various leadership roles, demonstrating expertise in various areas. He has been instrumental in steering the refinery towards cutting-edge advancements by championing the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from MIT Manipal and a postgraduate diploma in management from TA Pai Management Institute Manipal.

In another development, Cheruvally Nivedida Subramanian, an Independent Director has stepped down with effect from March 25, 2024.
