M&M Appoints Padmasree Warrior as ID; Reappoints Shikha Sharma

The shareholders of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited have approved the appointment of Padmasree Warrior as an Independent Director for a term of five years commencing on May 17, 2024.

The shareholders of the company have also approved the reappointment of Shikha Sharma as an Independent Director for five years, commencing on August 8, 2024.

Sat Pal Bhanoo’s appointment as a Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director representing the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has been approved with effect from May 17, 2024.

The appointment of Ranjan Pant as a Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director of the company has also been approved, with effect from May 17, 2024.

The reappointment of Anish Shah as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company designated as Group CEO and Managing Director with effect from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2030, and the reappointment of Rajesh Jejurikar as Whole-time Director designated as Executive Director and CEO (Auto and Farm Sector) with effect from April 1, 2025, to June 24, 2029, have also been approved.

Padmasree Warrior is the Founder, President and CEO of Fable. Previously, she was CEO of NIO U.S., Chief Development Officer, and Board Member of NIO Inc. Prior to NIO, she served as the Chief Technology and Strategy Officer (CTSO) for Cisco. Before that, she was the SVP and GM for the Cisco Enterprise segment and co-led Cisco’s worldwide engineering organisation. Prior to Cisco, she was EVP and CTO at Motorola. Forbes has named her one of “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” for three years running. In 2013, the International Alliance for Women gave her the World of Difference Award. In 2012, Business Insider called her one of the “25 Most Influential Women in Wireless.” The Wall Street Journal has called her one of “50 Women to Watch.” Fast Company included her among the “100 Most Creative People in Business.” The Economic Times listed her as “the 11th Most Influential Global Indian.” She received the United States Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce’s Excellence Award and YWCA Metropolitan Chicago’s Outstanding Woman Achievement Award. She was inducted into the WITI Hall of Fame. She holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi, India, and a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, New York, U.S. She currently serves as a Director on the Board of Spotify Technology SA. and as Director and CEO of Fable Group Inc.

Sat Pal Bhanoo took charge as MD of LIC in July 2023. He joined the corporation as a Direct Recruit Officer in October 1988. He served the corporation in various roles as Zonal Manager (Central Zone), Additional Director, Zonal Training Centre (Bhopal), and Regional Manager (P&IR) in the in the North Zone (Delhi). As Chief (Marketing-SBA), he looked after the marketing portfolio of Senior Business Associates and Life Insurance Corporation Associates as well, with a focus on revolutionising marketing activities and empowering them. He also serves as a Director on the Board of the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of Bangladesh Limited. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History (Honours) from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.

Ranjan Pant is a CEO, Advisor and consultant specialising in global strategy and change management. He has over three decades of experience. He contributed as a Board Director and committee member to leading corporations, including HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd., DSP Blackrock Investments Pvt. Ltd., and Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd. Earlier, he worked with Bain & Co., General Electric Company. He serves on the Board of Mahindra Accelo Ltd., Mahindra Auto Steel Pvt. Ltd., Point RP Consulting Pvt. Ltd. (OPC), and Schneider Electric President Systems Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) from BITS, Pilani, and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
