Legend Biotech Appoints Novartis Veteran Ingrid Zhang As Chief

Legend Biotech has appointed longtime Novartis executive Ingrid Zhang as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately, as the cell therapy maker seeks to expand its business beyond its blockbuster cancer treatment, Carvykti.

Zhang, who spent 15 years at Novartis, most recently served as its International Chief Commercial Officer and previously led the company’s China business. She has also held senior leadership positions at AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

Zhang succeeds Ying Huang, who resigned in July after serving as Legend Biotech’s CEO for seven years. Her appointment comes as the company focuses on sustaining Carvykti’s growth, advancing its development pipeline and executing its long-term expansion strategy.
