K. Rajaraman’s Tenure As IFSCA Chairman Extended Till October 2028

The government has extended the tenure of K. Rajaraman as Chairman of the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) by 27 months, keeping him in the role until October 24, 2028, or until further orders.

Rajaraman is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1989 Tamil Nadu cadre batch and serves as the Chairperson of IFSCA. Before joining IFSCA, he served as Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India. He began his career as a Design Engineer at BHEL, Trichy, and later held key positions in investment promotion, infrastructure, taxation and public sector administration. He also served as Managing Director of Chennai Metro Rail and held roles in the Ministry of Finance. Rajaraman holds a B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communications, an MBA and a Master’s degree in Economics. He has over three decades of experience in various leadership roles across central and state governments.
