Independent Director Brahma Nand Vyas Resigned From Astec Lifesciences

Dr. Brahma Nand Vyas has resigned as an Independent Director of Astec Lifesciences Limited, effective October 4, 2024, citing his advancing age. Currently, he holds several key positions, including serving at the Neem Foundation, Vice Chairman of the Oil Technologists Association of India, Member of the Indian Society of Agronomy, Member of the Indian Association of Plant Growth Products, President Emeritus of the Indian Society of Soil Science, Member of Neem Wave Exhibitions LLP, and President of the World Neem Organisation.

From 1975 to 1987, Dr. Vyas worked as a scientist and senior scientist in the Biology and Agriculture Division of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Government of India, where he studied the behaviour of radioisotopes in soils and soil-plant systems. In 1987, he transitioned to the industry, joining the Godrej Group, where he was responsible for developing agricultural input products. As Vice President of Research and Technical Development at Godrej Agrovet Ltd., Dr. Vyas played a key role in developing innovative products, including Neem-based fertiliser efficiency enhancers and plant protection agents.

A pioneer in promoting the concept of coating urea with Neem, Dr. Vyas advocated for this innovation over the years at various ministries and relevant authorities.
