ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Appoints Naved Masood as Independent Director

The Board of Directors of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited has approved the appointment of Naved Masood as an Additional (Independent) Director for five years, with effect from March 7, 2024. Subject to the approval of the shareholders.

Naved Masood was in the Indian Administrative Services and retired as the Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in February 2015. Masood served as an adjunct professor at the Aligarh Muslim University and the National Academy of Legal Education and Research University (NALSAR), Hyderabad. He has also served as a member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). He has served as the Public Interest Director on the Board of the National Stock Exchange of India Limited. During his tenure in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, he oversaw the drafting, enactment, and initialisation of the Companies Act 2013. He was also responsible for the development of the Corporate Governance framework under the Companies Act and its implementation. He played a lead role in developing the Competition Policy and rules and setting up the Indian Institute of Capital Markets. While serving as a member of the Board of SEBI, he was actively involved in matters concerning the running of the listed companies and SEBI-regulated entities like stock brokers, mutual funds, foreign portfolio investors, private equity, etc. He had also actively contributed to the evolution and amendment of SEBI policies on takeover regulations, insider trading regulations, alternative investment funds, ESOPs, corporatization of stock exchanges, etc. He has been an Independent Director on the Board of ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited since May 2, 2020.
