Hamid Ahmed Steps Down As Independent Director Of Religare Enterprises

Hamid Ahmed, Non-Executive Independent Director of Religare Enterprises Limited, resigned from his position with effect from February 04, 2025, due to his increasing scope of work in his family business.

Hamid Ahmed was appointed as a Trustee of Hamdard Laboratories India by his grandfather Hakeem Abdul Hameed in 1995, the founder of Jamia Hamdard. Ahmed joined Hamdard Laboratories India and became its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in 2016. Over a career spanning more than 22 years, he has handled various portfolios in the Unani and food industry. He has also served as Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard and is the Founder and President of the Unani Drug Manufacturers Association (UDMA). Ahmed completed his schooling at St. Columba’s School, New Delhi, and earned a B.A. in economics from Delhi University (DU). He also obtained an MBA from London, U.K., in 2000.
