Glenmark Life Sciences Appoints Hiren Patel as Chairman and Non-Executive Non-Independent Director

On March 6, 2024, the Board of Directors of Glenmark Life Sciences Limited appointed Hiren Karsanbhai Patel as an Additional Director (Chairman and Non-Executive, Non-Independent). The company also announced the appointment of Kaushikbhai N. Patel and Vijay Kumar Ratilal Shah as Additional Directors (Non-Executive, Independent) for 5 years, subject to the approval of the shareholders.

Hiren Karsanbhai Patel replaced Glenn Saldanha, who tendered his resignation on March 6, 2024. The company has also announced the resignation of V.S. Mani as a Non-Executive Director and Sridhar Gorthi as a Non-Executive, Independent Director on March 6, 2024.

Hiren K. Patel is the son of Nirma Group’s founder and promoter, Karsanbhai K. Patel, and has rich and varied experience in consumer goods, chemicals, cement, and the healthcare industry. Patel is also a trustee of Nirma Education & Research Foundation, which runs Nirma University and Nirma Vidyavihar, and is a member of the governing board of Nirma University. He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering and has completed an MBA.

Kaushikbhai N. Patel is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and has experience in strategy, financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, direct tax, and capital markets. He is the proprietor of M/s Kaushik Patel & Co. He is a Board Member of Nirma Limited, Nuvoco Vistas Corporation, and a trustee of various trusts.

Vijay R. Shah is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and has more than 25 years of experience in accounts and finance. He has been in practice, undertaking various statutory audits, taxation, and project appraisals. He is serving as a Board Member at Constera Realty Private Limited, Vadilal Chemicals Limited, and Vadilal Industries Inc., USA.
