Gabriel India Appoints Anand Sontakke as COO and Abdul Wahid as Head – Quality
The Board of Directors of Gabriel India Limited has approved the appointment of Abdul Wahid as Head of Quality, with effect from January 01, 2024. Anand Dinkar Sontakke has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (Two and Three-Wheeler Business Unit) with effect from January 15, 2024. He will be part of the senior management of the company. The Board has also accepted the resignation of Atul Jaggi, Deputy Managing Director. He will be associated with the company till March 31, 2024.
Abdul Wahid has over 26 years of experience in manufacturing with core experience in Operations Management and Quality Management. Wahid has worked with Escorts India Ltd, and Tenneco Automotive India Pvt Ltd. He completed graduation programs of VLFM (Value Chain Facilitation and Market Linkages) and a VSME (Value Stream Mapping and Efficiency) in 2012, both accredited by the Japan International Cooperative Agency (JICA) and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) of the Government of India.
Anand Dinkar Sontakke has been in the Indian Automotive Industry for over 33 years handling P & L responsibility for midsize Tier 1 suppliers. Sontakke has worked in automotive aggregates which include Diesel Fuel Injection Equipment, Thermal Management, Filtration & Engine Peripherals, Exhaust Systems and Fluid Transmission Systems. He has extensive experience in multiple functions like Manufacturing, Lean Management, Purchasing, Vendor Development, Program Management, Strategy, Marketing and Business Development. For the past 8 years, he is responsible for P & L of his business. He started his career with the Diesel Fuel Injection division of Robert Bosch India. He was deputed to Robert Bosch LLC, USA. He joined Anand Group as Head of Purchase with Mahle Anand Thermal Systems India and later took over as Head of Business Development and Program Management. Later he moved to another JV of Anand & Mahle and Sharda Motor Industries Ltd. He graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from VNIT, Nagpur and did C.P.M. from ISM, USA. He has completed the International Leadership Program at Mahle as well as a Senior Management Program from IIM Kozhikode.
