Frustrated Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk Fires Key Executives While Restructuring Board

According to reports, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has initiated significant restructuring within the company, including the dismissal of senior management and the termination of hundreds of employees due to declining sales. Musk’s actions were outlined in an email to senior executives, as reported by The Information. The restructuring coincided with Musk’s unannounced visit to China, purportedly to discuss the rollout of Tesla’s full self-driving (FSD) software and related data permissions.

Among those affected were Rebecca Tinucci, senior Director of Tesla’s supercharger business, and Daniel Ho, head of new products, both of whom were reportedly fired. Musk indicated in his email that all employees under these executives and roughly 500 individuals in the Supercharger group would be let go.

Musk emphasised the need for stringent cost reduction measures in the email, noting that while some executives were taking the situation seriously, others were not. Additionally, Tesla’s public policy team, led by former executive Rohan Patel, is reportedly being dissolved.

Earlier layoffs at Tesla, totaling more than 10% of the global workforce, occurred due to similar reasons, with senior leaders like battery development chief Drew Baglino and Rohan Patel departing from the company.
