Former Group CEO of Alibaba Daniel Zhang abruptly exits the cloud computing Unit

Daniel Zhang, the former CEO of Alibaba, surprised everyone by resigning from his position as the head of the company’s cloud computing unit. This move comes as Alibaba goes through changes in its leadership.

Alibaba has announced a $1 billion investment in a technology fund that Zhang will establish to support the company’s future growth plans. On the same day, Zhang also stepped down from his roles as Alibaba’s CEO and chairman.Zhang has been with Alibaba since 2007 and is well-known for creating the annual Singles Day online shopping event. In 2015, he took over as Alibaba’s CEO, and in 2019, he succeeded Jack Ma as the chairman.
