Ex RBI Dy Governor NS Vishwanathan joins Axis Bank Board as Independent Directors

Nurani Subramanian Vishwanathan, a former Central Banker, has been appointed as an Additional Independent Director at Axis Bank Limited. With a distinguished career at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), he rose to the position of Deputy Governor before retiring in 2020. Throughout his tenure, he gained extensive experience in various aspects of central banking, including administration, banking regulation, risk management, and human resource management. He also held notable positions at the Central Bank of Mauritius and the Industrial Financial Corporation of India. Currently, he holds prestigious roles in esteemed organisations and has a master’s degree in economics and a bachelor’s degree in arts.
