Essar Shipping Strengthens Board with New Appointments

Essar Shipping Limited has approved key changes to its Board. Rajesh Dhirubhai Desai was re-appointed as Director with effect from September 30, 2026. Subramanian Raman was appointed as an Independent Director, while Suresh Ramamirtham was re-appointed as an Independent Director, both with effect from September 1, 2026.

Subramanian Raman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Madras University and has over 40 years of experience in secretarial matters, compliance, mergers and amalgamations, and investor relations. During his career, he handled several overseas and domestic mergers, acquisitions and demerger activities. He retired as Joint General Manager from Essar in 2018.

Suresh Ramamirtham has 40 years of experience across Essar Group companies, covering oil, ports and shipping, construction and solar businesses. His areas of expertise include marketing, operations, HR and finance. He holds an MBA and various certifications in oil and shipping, including petroleum trading and LPG-related training.

Rajesh Dhirubhai Desai is a commerce graduate from Mumbai University and has 38 years of experience in accounts and finance, including 34 years with the Essar Group. He has also worked with Bharat Surgicals Company and Essar Bulk Carriers Ltd.
