Eli Lilly’s Anat Ashkenazi to be new CFO of Google and Alphabet

Anat Ashkenazi will be the new CFO and SVP of Google and Alphabet, effective July 31. Ruth Porat, the long-serving CFO, will remain with the company however she will assume a new role as the President and Chief Investment Officer of Alphabet and Google announced in July 2023. Porat will continue as CFO until Ashkenazi assumes her new role, including through the company’s Q2 earnings.

Anat Ashkenazi, who has been CFO at Eli Lilly and Company since 2021, is leaving the Indianapolis-based pharma company after a 23-year career. Prior to becoming CFO, she was SVP, controller, and CFO of Lilly Research Laboratories. She also led the corporate strategy team and business transformation office, and served as CFO for several of the company’s global business areas. Ashkenazi will remain Lilly’s CFO and a member of the executive committee through July, while an internal and external search for her successor is underway, the company announced on Wednesday morning. During her tenure at Lilly, she has overseen significant growth, particularly in sales and demand for weight-loss drugs.
