Dr. Madhu Sahoo Retired As PID Of NSDL

The first term of Dr. Madhu Sudan Sahoo as Public Interest Director (PID) on the Governing Board of National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) concluded on April 17, 2026. Dr. Sahoo has conveyed that he will not be seeking re-appointment for second term as a PID.

Dr. Sahoo has nearly four decades of experience. He joined the National Law University Delhi as a Distinguished Professor in December 2021. In his career, he served as Chairperson of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), Member of the Competition Commission of India (CCI), Secretary of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Whole-time Member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), and Economic Adviser with the National Stock Exchange of India Limited.

A member of the Indian Economic Service, he has served in several Ministries of the Government of India and has also had a brief stint in legal practice. He qualified CS and holds postgraduate degrees in Economics, Law, and Management. He is PhD in Economics from University of Mumbai and an M.Phil.
