Disney’s CFO, Christine McCarthy, to Step Down and Take Medical Leave
In a recent announcement, Disney revealed that its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Christine McCarthy, will be resigning from her position and going on a family medical leave. Effective from July 1, Kevin Lansberry, the CFO of Disney’s Parks, Experiences, and Products division, will assume the role of interim CFO. McCarthy, who has served as CFO for over eight years, will continue to contribute as a strategic adviser during her leave and aid in the selection process for a permanent successor. However, the news of McCarthy’s departure caused a decline in Disney’s stock during after-hours trading. Lansberry, a veteran with more than three decades of experience at Disney, has been responsible for managing the financial aspects of the company’s renowned properties, including its theme parks. This development follows a series of changes in Disney’s executive team, including the return of Bob Iger as CEO in November.
