Dinesh Khara To Succeed Vishwanathan Mavila Nair As KFin Technologies Chairperson

KFin Technologies Limited has announced the cessation of Vishwanathan Mavila Nair as Chairperson and Non-Executive Director following the completion of his tenure. His term concluded on September 30, 2026, after serving as Chairperson since October 2021. Dinesh Khara will assume the role of Chairperson of the Board with effect from October 1, 2026.

Khara is a veteran banker with nearly four decades of experience in Indian and international banking. He served as Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI) from October 2020 to August 2024. Before this, he was MD (Global Banking & Subsidiaries), overseeing corporate and international banking, treasury, and SBI’s non-banking arms such as SBI Mutual Fund, SBI Life Insurance, and SBI Cards. Earlier, as Managing Director (Associates & Subsidiaries), he led the merger of five associate banks and Bhartiya Mahila Bank with SBI. Khara began his career as a Probationary Officer in 1984 and has held leadership roles across key functions. He holds an MBA from FMS Delhi and a postgraduate degree in commerce from the Delhi School of Economics.

Nair has been the Chairman and Non-Executive Director of the company, since November 22, 2018. He has served on multiple Boards, including DAM Capital Advisors, BQ Digital, Propelld, and Franklin Templeton IFSC. He has held leadership positions at Union Bank of India, Dena Bank, and Corporation Bank and was Chairman of the Indian Banks’ Association. He has over five decades of experience in financial services and advisory roles across fintech, asset management, and digital platforms. He has advised firms such as WestBridge, Growx Ventures, and TransUnion LLC. His tenure at KFintech has been marked by enhanced governance and scale, positioning the company for sustained growth under his continued leadership. Nair is a science graduate from the University of Mysore.
