
Deepak Kapoor Joins Tata Power Company As Independent Director
Deepak Kapoor has been appointed as a Non-Executive Independent Director (Additional Director) of Tata Power Company Limited, commencing from June 1, 2026, subject to approval of the shareholders.
Kapoor spent more than 30 years with PwC India and served as its Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) between 2007 and 2016. He was admitted as a Partner of the firm in 1991 and held leadership roles across multiple practice areas during his tenure. He has worked extensively in audit and advisory assignments, including mergers and acquisitions, transaction support, and sector-focused consulting. He has significant experience across industries such as consumer products, manufacturing, telecommunications, technology, healthcare, entertainment, and media, both in India and international markets. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Fraud Examiners (USA), with expertise spanning governance, risk management, and financial oversight.
