Debadatta Chand assumes charge as MD & CEO of the Bank of Baroda

Debadatta Chand took over as the managing director and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Baroda on 30th June 2023.

Chand has over twenty-nine years of experience in commercial lending and development financial institutions, giving him an excellent basis in the banking industry. He began his career in 1994 as an officer at Allahabad Bank, and from 1998 to 2005, he was an officer at the Small Industry Development Bank of India (SIDBI). He joined Punjab National Bank (PNB) in 2005 as chief manager and quickly rose to the post of chief general manager. During his 15-year career with PNB, he held a variety of positions, including head of the Patna zonal audit office, circle director of the Bareilly region, head of integrated treasury operations, and head of the Mumbai zone. Chand has a B. Tech., an MBA, and a CAIIB certification. Chand also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Equity Research and is a registered portfolio manager.
