Cummins CAO Sharon Barner To Retire

Cummins’ Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and former General Counsel Sharon Barner will retire on May 31, 2025, with her replacement to be announced in the coming weeks.

Barner joined Cummins in 2012 as vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary before becoming CAO in 2021. She oversaw 12 corporate functions, including regulatory affairs, government relations, corporate responsibility, risk management, and ESG strategy. She played a role in managing the company’s COVID-19 response and major acquisitions, including Meritor. Barner was also involved in the separation of Cummins’ filtration business. Before joining Cummins, she worked in intellectual property law and held leadership roles at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
