Concerns About Generative AI and Cybersecurity Are Growing Among IT Leaders

With businesses investing more and more in generative AI, new cybersecurity problems are arising. These urgent problems are highlighted by a recent Flexential poll of 350 IT leaders from companies generating over USD 100 million in sales annually.

According to the report, 95% of IT executives believe that their investments in AI have made them more vulnerable to cyberattacks. Unbelievably, 40% of respondents said their cybersecurity teams don’t know how to safeguard AI apps. On the other hand, 42% of companies have moved AI workloads to colocation facilities for improved data protection in an effort to reduce risks. Experts point out that while traditional threats—which account for more than two-thirds of breaches this year—exploit human error, AI-driven attacks are uncommon. In order to lessen these vulnerabilities and concentrate on upskilling in AI security, organisations are advised to engage in employee training.
