CFO Of Tata Consumer Products, L. Krishnakumar, Retires
Tata Consumer Products’ Executive Director and Group CFO, L Krishnakumar, retires from his post with effect from October 31, 2023. L. Krishnakumar has five decades of experience. He currently serves as a Director on the boards of NourishCo Beverages, Tata Starbucks, and several overseas subsidiaries of the company, as well as Infiniti Retail. He began his journey with the Tata Group in 2000 in the hotel business at The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), starting as Vice President. In 2004, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance, at Tata Tea in India. He transitioned to Tata Consumer Products in 2005, where he has held various positions in both India and the UK over the years. Additionally, he has been an active member of finance forums with organisations like CII and the Bombay Chamber.
In another development, Ajit Krishnakumar has been appointed as a Whole-Time Director, subject to the approval of the shareholders. He is designated as “Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer” for a period of 5 years, with effect from November 1, 2023. Ajit Krishnakumar has been serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Tata Consumer Products since 2020. He joined the Tata Group in 2013, working on Strategy, Finance, and Mergers and Acquisitions. In 2019, he played a key role in consolidating various consumer goods businesses under Tata Consumer Products. His responsibilities include overseeing business integration, India operations, and B2B businesses, along with other global corporate duties. Before joining the Tata Group, Ajit worked as an investment banker for about 15 years, helping companies with their strategic, financial, and M&A decisions in various industries and countries. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BBA from the University of Hartford, Connecticut.
Punit Gupta, presently serving as Senior Vice President, Strategy and M&A, will assume the role of President and Head of Sales for India, with effect from November 18, 2023. He will replace Navaneel Kar, who has resigned and will be relieved on November 17, 2023.
