CEAT Appoints Praveen Pardeshi as Independent Director & Gaurav Tongia as CS

The Board of Directors of CEAT Limited has approved the appointment of Praveen Pardeshi (Pravin Singh Pardeshi) as an Additional Director in the capacity of Non-Executive, Independent Director for five years with effect from June 17, 2024. Subject to the approval of shareholders.

The Board has approved the appointment of Gaurav Tongia as the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer with effect from July 1, 2024.

Furthermore, the Board approved the reappointment of Arnab Banerjee as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) for one year with effect from April 1, 2025, subject to the approval of shareholders.

Praveen Pardeshi is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer with over 34 years of experience. He has served as an Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. At present, he is working as a Member (Administration), Capacity Building Commission, Government of India (New Delhi) as Secretary, overseeing “Mission Karmyogi”. He is appointed as the CEO of the think tank Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA) in July 2023. He was all India first in the Indian Administrative Services. He was appointed as the District Collector and District Magistrate for Latur District. He holds an M.Sc. in Social Policy, Participatory Planning, and Economic Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Gaurav Tongia previously worked with AUNDE Faze Three Autofab Limited as AGM-Legal & Company Secretary and eClerx as Company Secretary and Head-Legal & Compliance. He holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from the University of Rajasthan, a Masters’ in Business Administration (MBA) from the SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), and a Company Secretary from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA).
