BREAKING NEWS: Parag Desai Executive Director at Wagh Bakri, Dies After Street Dog Attack

Parag Desai, The Executive Director of Gujarat Tea Processors and Packers Limited, renowned for its Wagh Bakri tea brand, tragically passed away on October 22. Desai, aged 49, succumbed to his injuries a week after a brutal encounter with stray dogs.

According to reports, he was admitted to Shelby Hospital on October 15 after a fight with street dogs near his home. He was then moved to Zydus Hospital for emergency surgery the next day. Unfortunately, Desai died on October 22 from a major cerebral haemorrhage.

He was a key figure in the organisation, directing the sales, marketing, and export departments. He was also an expert tea taster and grader, which aided the company’s expansion into Tea Lounges and e-commerce. He was also an active member of several industry associations, notably the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), as well as overseas bodies.

His wife, Vidisha, and daughter, Parisha, recalled him lovingly as the fourth-generation proprietor of their prestigious tea business. He got an MBA from Long Island University in the United States, expanding his knowledge of the tea sector.
