Blue Dart Express Appoints R.S. Subramanian as Managing Director; Balfour Manuel to Step Down

The Board of Blue Dart Express Limited has approved the appointment of R.S. Subramanian as the Managing Director for a period from November 30, 2026 till May 25, 2030. The appointment of R.S. Subramanian will be subject to approval of Shareholders. He will replace Balfour Manuel. The Board has accepted Manuel’s request for early superannuation, effective from November 29, 2026, citing personal commitments.

Subramanian, aged 61, is currently the SVP for South Asia and MD of DHL Express India. He is also a member of the DHL Express Asia Pacific Management Board. He has 30 years of experience. He joined DHL Express India as the Head of Sales, subsequently moving up to the position of Vice President, South Asia Cluster (RoSA), where he managed operations in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Maldives and Bhutan. In 2010, he was appointed MD of DHL Express India.

He is the Vice Chairman of the Express Industry Council of India (EICI) and is part of the Advisory Council of Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC). He was first appointed on the Board of Blue Dart Express Limited on March 27, 2019. He is currently a Non- Executive Director on the Board of the Company. Prior to DHL, Subramanian spent 14 years at HUL. He is a graduate in Industrial Engineering and holds a Master’s in Management from IIM Bangalore.
