Biswabrata Chakravorty Appointed Group Chief Digital & Information Officer at Avenue Supermarts

Biswabrata Chakravorty has been appointed as Group Chief Digital and Information Officer of Avenue Supermarts Limited, with effect from January 5, 2024. Consequently, Vikram Bhatia, Sr. Vice President of Information Technology, shall cease to be considered a Senior Management Personnel (SMP) of the company with the change in the structure with effect from January 5, 2024.

Biswabrata Chakravorty is a seasoned technology leader with over two decades of experience in various companies in the life and health insurance, retail, and corporate banking sectors. He has extensive experience in handling transformation agendas in small and large enterprises, driving digital transformation strategies, managing large cross-functional teams, and having hands-on knowledge of risk management. In his previous stints, he worked with companies like IndusInd Bank as Chief Information Officer and Head IT, Cigna TTK Health Insurance as Chief Information Officer, Head PMO, and BCM, Reliance Life Insurance as Chief Technology Officer, and other corporates like Barclays, Bank of America, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, etc. He holds a PGDM (Specialisation in Systems) from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
