Birlasoft’s Independent Directors Ashok Barat and Nandita Gurjar Retired

Ashok Kumar Barat and Nandita Gurjar, Independent Directors of Birlasoft Limited, are completing their terms on January 14, 2024.

Barat is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). Formerly serving as the MD and CEO at Forbes & Company. Barat held various leadership roles in Indian and multi-national companies, including Hindustan Lever, RPG Group, Pepsi, Electrolux, Telstra, and Kraft-Heinz, both within India and abroad. Currently, he is an active member of the managing committee of ASSOCHAM. His contributions extend to the past presidency of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Additionally, he is a Certified Mediator with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Presently, he serves on the boards of Wacker Metroark Chemicals Pvt Ltd., Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company, DCB Bank, Mahindra Intertrade, and the Council of the EU Chamber of Commerce in India.

Nandita Gurjar, a former engineer turned HR expert, has worked at Wipro and Infosys, among other companies. Gurjar oversaw the HR department of Infosys BPO before becoming Worldwide Head of HR, overseeing the company’s across-the-globe activities from its US headquarters. She has been honoured for her accomplishments, including the “Human Capital Business Leader” award from the Singapore Society of Human Resource Management and was named one of the “25 Most Powerful Professional Women in India” by Business Today magazine. She gave talks at the World Bank and Great Places to Work, USA, and was a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Advisory Council on New Models of Leadership.
