Bank of Baroda Executive Director Lal Singh Gets Tenure Extension

The Central Government has extended the tenure of Lal Singh as Executive Director of Bank of Baroda beyond his current term, which was scheduled to end on October 8, 2026. His tenure has been extended until his superannuation on January 31, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Singh joined Bank of Baroda as Executive Director on October 9, 2023. He began his banking career as a Rural Development Officer with Union Bank of India in 1990 and has over three decades of experience.

During his career, he has served as Zonal Head of Varanasi, Lucknow and Chennai, as well as Regional Head of Mumbai West and Udaipur. He has also held senior leadership roles across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Before joining Bank of Baroda, Singh served as Chief General Manager overseeing Union Bank of India’s strategic HR function.

Singh holds a postgraduate degree in Agricultural Sciences and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He has also completed programmes in treasury, investment and risk management, microfinance, and leadership and strategy at institutions including UVA Darden School of Business, ISB Hyderabad and IIM Bangalore.
