Balkrishna Industries appoints Rahul Dutt and Laxmidas Merchant as Independent Director

The Board of Balkrishna Industries Limited has approved the appointment of Laxmidas Merchant as an Additional Director (Independent Director) for a duration of 5 years, with effect from March 28, 2024. And the appointment of Rahul Dutt as an Additional Director (Independent Director) for a 5-year term with effect from March 28, 2024. The board has also approved the reappointment of Rajiv Poddar as Joint Managing Director for a 5-year term with effect from January 22, 2024. The reappointment of Shruti Shah as an Independent Director for a period of 5 years, effective February 8, 2024, pending the approval of the company’s shareholders.

Rahul Dutt has over 20 years of experience with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, infrastructure, technology licencing, and business contracts across various sectors such as petrochemicals, petro-marketing, telecommunications, retail, and sports.

Laxmidas Merchant has more than three decades of rich experience in accounts, finance and taxation.
