AstraZeneca Pharma India Announces Resignations Of Two Senior Business & Strategy Executives

Ayush Kumar Agarwal has resigned as Business Unit Director of Biopharmaceutical Business Unit of AstraZeneca Pharma India Limited to pursue a career outside the organisation, effective June 12, 2026.

In addition, Shikha Mirchandani Chatrath has resigned as Director of Commercial Excellence and Strategy of the company to pursue a career outside the organisation, effective August 3, 2026.

Agarwal is a biopharmaceutical industry professional with experience across sales, marketing, strategy, and commercial operations. He most recently headed AstraZeneca Pharma India’s Biopharmaceutical Business Unit, overseeing the Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism, and Respiratory & Immunology businesses. Earlier, as Director–Commercial Excellence, he led teams across strategy, business development, retail, learning and development, sales force effectiveness, and public channel operations. He has also held regional leadership roles covering Asia Frontier Markets and served as Asia Area Commercial Director for the Biopharmaceutical Business Unit. Agarwal has been involved in product launches, growth strategies, and commercial execution initiatives across markets. He completed the General Management Program for Asia from ISB Hyderabad and the National University of Singapore, and has additional certifications in marketing and management from IIM Lucknow and IIM Ahmedabad.

Chatrath is a business strategy and commercial operations leader with over 12 years of experience across healthcare, consulting, and business transformation. At AstraZeneca India, she leads the Commercial Excellence, Business Development and Strategy function, overseeing areas including alliances, retail, sales and marketing training, product planning, market insights, sales force effectiveness, and strategic initiatives. Before joining AstraZeneca, she was Business Head–Urology India and South Asia at Boston Scientific, where she managed business performance, profitability, and market share across the region. Earlier, she held commercial, strategy, business development, and consulting roles at Philips India and Accenture Management Consulting. Chatrath has worked across markets including India, the UK, Belgium, Switzerland, Mauritius, Singapore, and the UAE. She holds an MBA (PGDM) from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and a B.E. (Hons.) in Computer Science from BITS Pilani, Dubai.
