Arundhati Chakraborty Appointed Group CEO of Accenture Operations
Accenture, the US-based IT giant, has announced a significant leadership change, naming Arundhati Chakraborty as the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Accenture Operations. She will be taking over from Yusuf Tayob, who is set to lead the company’s Global Communications, Media, and Technology (CMT) industry practices.
These new appointments will be effective from September 1, 2024, with both Chakraborty and Tayob continuing to serve on Accenture’s Global Management Committee, as stated by the company.
As clients increasingly turn to technology, data, and AI to transform their operations, Chakraborty’s strong track record in managing complex transformations is particularly noteworthy. Currently, she leads over 185,000 Accenture employees across more than 125 Intelligent Operations Centres, focussing on accelerated transformation through analytics, AI, and automation, the company remarked on Chakraborty’s promotion.
Yusuf Tayob, who will transition from his position as Group Chief Executive of Operations to Chair of Global CMT Industry Practices, brings over two decades of experience in the CMT sector. Tayob has held various leadership positions at Accenture, including leading the North America CMT Consulting Practice and the Salesforce Business Group within Accenture Technology.
