Abhijit Chakravorty & Ketan Vikamsey Join IDBI Bank As Independent Directors
Abhijit Chakravorty and Ketan Vikamsey have been appointed as Independent Directors (Additional Directors) on the Board of IDBI Bank Limited, w.e.f. May 19, 2026, and June 26, 2026, respectively. Both the appointments were approved on July 22, 2026.
Abhijit Chakravorty retired as Deputy Managing Director (Dy MD) of SBI, with his last assignment as CEO & MD of SBI Cards & Payment Services Ltd. During his career, he handled key roles across retail banking, international banking, information technology and corporate credit. He has experience in infrastructure, power, steel and other sectors through his work in SBI’s commercial and mid-corporate credit divisions. He also led SBI’s operations in Bangladesh as CEO and Country Head and served at the bank’s Hong Kong branch. His expertise covers banking, finance, risk management, technology, payments, business management and corporate governance. Chakravorty is a banking professional with over three decades of experience at State Bank of India. He is a postgraduate and a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
Ketan Vikamsey has served as Chairman of the HLB India Federation and contributed to various committees and expert groups of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He leads the firm’s Assurance Practice and has experience in audits of corporates, banks, financial institutions, mutual funds, NBFCs and Asset Reconstruction Companies. He is a speaker at professional forums and has contributed to publications on auditing and banking standards. He has held Board positions in several companies, including serving as an Independent Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee at State Bank of India. Vikamsey is a Chartered Accountant and Senior Partner at KKC & Associates LLP since 1990. He has also been involved in regulatory inspections and investigations. His expertise includes accountancy, banking, finance, risk management, information technology and Corporate Governance.
