12th Annual Compliance 10/10 Symposium & Awards: Beyond The Score: The People Behind The Standard

As compliance moves closer to strategy, resilience, data and culture, the professionals behind it are being asked to do more than ever.

The role of the compliance professional has changed dramatically. What was once viewed largely as a function of interpretation, monitoring and reporting now sits much closer to the heart of business resilience, technology, data, culture and decision-making.

That shift matters. AI is changing how decisions are made and how information moves. Cybersecurity and third-party dependencies are opening new vulnerabilities. Governance expectations are moving beyond formal policy towards demonstrable accountability. Compliance professionals are therefore being asked to do more than interpret rules: they must help organisations anticipate risk, strengthen processes and support responsible growth.

Compliance 10/10 was created to recognise that contribution and give the Governance, Risk, Assurance, Compliance and Ethics community a platform of its own. On 10 October 2026, the initiative returns to Taj Lands End, Mumbai for its 12th edition under the theme Beyond the Score.

The idea is simple: compliance is a continuous process, not a moment-in-time result. A filing completed on schedule, a policy approved or an audit passed may show that a requirement has been met. But none of those, on their own, reveal how an organisation behaves when judgement is required. Going beyond the score means looking at the culture, leadership and systems that turn compliance into an operating standard.

“Compliance is not only about meeting the requirement. It is about what happens when judgement is required.”

THE DAY AT A GLANCE

QUIZ FINALE SYMPOSIUM THEATRE AWARDS
01 02 03 04

TEST. THINK. COMPETE.

The day begins with the Compliance Quiz Finale. Following earlier online rounds, three finalist teams will battle it out before an audience of 300 industry peers. More than a knowledge challenge, the quiz brings pace, competition and energy to learning around compliance, ethics and governance.

MIND THE GAP

The conversation then moves to Mind the Gap, the 2026 symposium theme. It explores where policy, risk controls, accountability and ethical intent fall out of alignment – and how organisations can close those gaps in practice.

Four panel discussions will examine Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity; Risk and Resilience; Compliance; and Governance and Ethics. The questions are immediate and practical: who controls data as it moves across employees, cloud platforms and AI systems? Are periodic compliance checks enough to prove resilience? How can compliance be built into products and processes? And how do organisations close the distance between stated values and actual conduct?

COMPLIANCE, BROUGHT TO LIFE

The symposium will be followed by Compliance Theatre, where real-life workplace situations will be enacted to explore behavioural change, organisational culture and the impact of the compliance function. Expert analysis and “what-if” scenarios will test alternative actions and their outcomes.

THE OSCARS OF COMPLIANCE

The evening culminates with the Oscars of Compliance, recognising the individuals, teams, programmes and organisations raising the standard across Indian business. Its highest honour, the Compliance Crusader, has previously recognised leaders including Adi Godrej, Anu Aga, M. Damodaran, N. R. Narayana Murthy, Deepak Parekh, Dr. R. A. Mashelkar, Harish Salve, Venu Srinivasan, Ashish Chauhan, Azim Premji and Keki Mistry.

The 2026 awards were judged by an independent jury led by Hon’ble Justice Abhay S. Oka, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, alongside Shailesh Haribhakti, Vineet Vij, Ashwini Deshpande and Rajesh Bagga.

For twelve editions, Compliance 10/10 has brought together leaders from business, legal, risk and compliance to exchange perspectives and recognise excellence. This year, it once again turns the spotlight towards the people and organisations moving compliance beyond the minimum – towards trust, resilience and responsible growth.
