Glass Lewis Merges with Clarity AI to Build Sustainability and Stewardship Platform

Proxy advisory and governance solutions provider Glass Lewis and sustainability data and analytics company Clarity AI have announced a business combination to create an integrated platform covering investment decision-making and stewardship.

The combined platform will bring together corporate governance, proxy voting, sustainability data, AI-driven analytics and stewardship solutions. The companies said institutional investors are increasingly looking to manage investment analysis, sustainability, engagement and voting through connected systems rather than separate platforms.

As part of the transaction, the companies will establish a global centre of excellence for sustainability, data and AI innovation in Madrid, highlighting their focus on the European sustainable investment market.

Founded in 2017, Clarity AI provides AI-based sustainability and compliance solutions using machine learning and big data to support investment decisions, regulatory compliance and risk management. Glass Lewis serves more than 1,300 investment managers and pension funds globally with governance, stewardship and proxy voting services.

The companies said the combination will strengthen their ability to serve European institutional investors through expanded sustainability capabilities, local market expertise and AI-enabled product development.

Glass Lewis CEO Bob Mann said the combination will also allow the company to expand its range of products and services for European clients, while Clarity AI CEO Rebeca Minguela highlighted the combination of governance expertise with sustainability data, AI and analytics.
