Can Fin Homes’ Shubhalakshmi Panse Retired As An Independent Director
The tenure of Shubhalakshmi Aamod Panse as an Independent Director of Can Fin Homes Limited has been completed on July 29, 2026.
Panse served as Chairperson & Managing Director of Allahabad Bank from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that she was an Executive Director of Vijaya Bank. She was also the Chairperson of ALLBANK Finance Ltd., a subsidiary of Allahabad Bank and Director on the Board of Universal Sompo Insurance Company.
Currently is on the Boards of Atul Ltd. and Sudharshan Chemical Industries Ltd.
Shubhalakshmi Panse served on key national advisory bodies that shaped the Indian banking ecosystem. As a member of the Reserve Bank of India’s P. J. Nayak Committee (2014), she helped draft recommendations to reform bank board governance, improve autonomy, and restructure public sector bank ownership. She was also appointed to the RBI External Advisory Committee (2014–2015), which scrutinized and vetted the initial applications for setting up Payments Banks in India. Additionally, she participated in high-level government panels responsible for selecting top executive leadership, including Chairpersons, Managing Directors, and Executive Directors across public sector banks.
She joined as Probationary Officer in Bank of Maharashtra in 1976 and served up to the level of General Manager in Bank of Maharashtra. She has an experience of nearly 40 years in the banking industry.
Panse holds a strong academic and professional foundation in science and finance. She earned her M.Sc. as a Gold Medalist from Savitribai Phule Pune University before pursuing higher studies in the United States, where she completed her MBA with a specialization in Bank Management from Drexel University. Reinforcing her technical expertise in commercial banking, she is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
