Manikandan Muthiah Succeeds Executive Director Venkatraman Venkateswaran As CFO Of Federal Bank

Federal Bank has appointed Manikandan Muthiah as Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel (CFO & KMP), with effect from May 1, 2026.

Further, Venkatraman Venkateswaran has stepped down from the role of CFO today, i.e., April 30, 2026, and will continue as Executive Director. Manikandan will report to Venkateswaran.

Manikandan currently serves as Deputy Vice President-II and Head of Financial Reporting at the bank. He is a finance professional with over 12 years of experience in the banking sector and has been associated with Federal Bank since October 2013. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), and also holds a Certified Public Accountant licence in the United States. He is also a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. During his tenure, the bank received recognition from ICAI and SAFA for financial reporting. He was included in ICAI’s 40 Under 40 list in 2025. Manikandan holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and has completed a programme at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B).

Over his career, Venkateswaran has worked with global banks such as HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank. His experience spans business finance, financial reporting and operations, financial crime compliance, and technology and operations finance across multiple geographies. At Federal Bank, he oversees functions including financial reporting and taxation, operations, investor relations, information technology, data protection, corporate planning, corporate services, credit administration, credit monitoring, vigilance, and transaction banking. Venkateswaran is a Chartered Accountant with degrees in economics and law, and holds an executive MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
