Dr. Jayant Dasgupta, Rashmi Verma & Narendra Kumar Retire As Independent Directors Of PTC India

Dr. Jayant Dasgupta, Rashmi Verma, and Narendra Kumar have retired as Independent Directors of PTC India Limited upon completion of their terms, w.e.f. April 13, 2026.

Dr. Dasgupta is an economist and legal expert in international trade and policy. He serves as a Member of the Board of Governors and Governing Council at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries. He has also served as an Independent Director at MMTC Ltd. (the largest trading company of India and one of the major trading companies of Asia) from 2017 to 2020. He acts as an arbitrator in disputes related to infrastructure contracts and advises clients on anti-dumping, safeguards, and subsidy matters. He also advises governments on World Trade Organisation (WTO)-related issues and is associated with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on trade policy. He holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a PhD in economics from Patna University.

Verma serves as an Independent Director at PTC India Financial Services Ltd., Gujarat Hotels Ltd., PTC Energy Ltd., and as Non-Executive Independent Director at UFlex Ltd., and HT Media Ltd. She is also associated with the Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals of ICAI. She has held senior roles in government, including Secretary in the Department of Revenue, and positions in the Ministries of Finance, Tourism, and Textiles. Her earlier roles include work with Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation. Verma studied at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, the Indian Institute of Public Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh, University of Delhi, and University of Hull.

Kumar serves as Non-Executive Independent Director at SMC Global Securities Ltd. and SMC Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. He is also serving as Managing Director (MD) of Delhi Financial Corporation. He has previously held roles with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. He has also been on the Board of Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. Kumar completed his undergraduate studies at Shri Ram College of Commerce and earned a postgraduate degree from Delhi School of Economics.
