IFSCA & IICA Sign MoU To Develop Corporate Governance Framework At GIFT-IFSC
The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) and the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a Corporate Governance framework at GIFT-IFSC.
The MoU was signed on February 20, 2026, at the IFSCA Campus in GIFT City by Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, Director General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IICA, and K. Rajaraman, Chairperson of IFSCA, in the presence of officials from both institutions. IFSCA, the unified regulator of India’s International Financial Services Centre, operates within the framework of the Companies Act, 2013, administered by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). IICA functions under the same ministry and provides support in governance, capacity building, and policy advisory.
The agreement sets out collaboration in capacity building, policy research, and knowledge sharing. IICA will conduct certificate and training programmes for IFSCA officers and IFSC-registered entities in corporate laws, governance, ESG, and cross-border transactions.
Singh said IICA looks forward to close collaboration to encourage a standardised governance ecosystem. Rajaraman called for joint governance programmes at GIFT City on an annual basis.
