Kajaria Ceramics’ Board Redesignates Ashok Kajaria As Chairman, Chetan Kajaria As Vice Chairman & Rishi Kajaria As MD
The Board of Directors of Kajaria Ceramics Limited has approved the redesignation of Ashok Kajaria as Chairman, from his current role as Chairman and Managing Director, effective October 1, 2025, subject to member approval.
At the same meeting, the Board also approved the elevation of Chetan Kajaria from Joint Managing Director (Joint MD) to Vice Chairman, and Rishi Kajaria from Joint Managing Director to Managing Director (MD), pending member approval.
Ashok Kajaria is the Founder of Kajaria Ceramics. With a career spanning nearly five decades, he is credited with transforming the tile industry in India by pioneering the introduction of large-format wall tiles and reshaping tile display and marketing practices. Since establishing Kajaria in 1988 as a 1 MSM fledgling venture, his leadership has guided it into India’s leading and most respected tile brand. Alongside his entrepreneurial journey, he is actively involved in the company’s philanthropic initiatives, promoting inclusive growth and strengthening social outreach programs. His vision and strategic direction continue to define the growth and influence of the company.
Chetan Kajaria is the son of Ashok Kajaria who currently serves as the Joint Managing Director. He joined the company in the year 2000 and has since been instrumental in shaping its growth. He introduced international-standard tile showrooms across India, setting an industry trend. In 2011, he expanded the company’s production footprint beyond North India by adopting an asset-light strategy through strategic acquisitions of majority stakes in plants across western and southern India, reducing capital expenditure and project timelines. He also pioneered the introduction of value-added tiles using advanced digital technology from Spain, enhancing product variety and customer experience. His initiatives have significantly contributed to positioning Kajaria as a leading wall and floor tile manufacturer in India.
Rishi Kajaria is also the son of Ashok Kajaria who joined the company in 2003 and leads the vitrified tile vertical. Initially focused on trading vitrified tiles, he shifted to manufacturing in 2010 by setting up the first production unit in Sikandrabad, followed by a major expansion at Gailpur in 2011. He further strengthened capacity through joint ventures in Morbi, Gujarat, and ensuring faster scale-up without gestation delays. Under his leadership, the company has emphasised value-added products in the glazed vitrified tile (GVT) segment, supported by advanced Continua Plus press technology across North and South India. He also ventured into the bathware segment to offer complete solutions, broadening the company’s product portfolio and strengthening its market presence.
