Nestlé Investors Urge Chairman Paul Bulcke To Step Down

Nestlé investors are pressing Chairman Paul Bulcke to step down after the exit of former Chief Executive Laurent Freixe earlier this month, according to the Financial Times.

Freixe was dismissed in September for failing to disclose a relationship with a subordinate, an incident that shareholders said raised questions about governance and Bulcke’s judgement. The move followed the sudden departure of Freixe’s predecessor, Mark Schneider, a year earlier. Bulcke, who has been Chairman since 2017, had previously announced plans to leave in 2026. He has served as Chairman of Nestlé since 2017, after leading the company as CEO from 2008 to 2016. He joined Nestlé in 1979, holding leadership roles across Europe and Latin America. He studied at the University of Louvain and Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School.
