
Dr. Vinay Prasad Resumes Leadership Role At FDA’s Biologics Division
Dr. Vinay Prasad is resuming leadership of the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) at the agency’s request, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Dr. Prasad is the Director of the CBER and Chief Medical and Scientific Officer at the US FDA. He is a haematologist-oncologist and professor in the department of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of California, San Francisco. He leads the VKPrasad Lab, focusing on cancer drugs, health policy, clinical trials, and evidence-based decision-making. With over 500 academic publications and 14,000 citations, he is the author of “Ending Medical Reversal” (2015) and “Malignant” (2020). Dr. Prasad also engages the public through his oncology podcast “Plenary Session”, medical podcast, and an educational YouTube channel, advancing conversations on medicine, science, and healthcare policy.
