Teck Long Tan To Replace Helen Wong As CEO Of Singapore’s OCBC Bank By Year-End

Singapore’s OCBC Bank appointed Teck Long Tan, currently Head of Global Wholesale Banking, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective December 31, 2025, when Helen Wong retires.

Tan joined OCBC in March 2022 and will serve as deputy CEO until the leadership transition is completed. He brings over three decades of banking experience. He also serves as a Director at Bank of Ningbo and Maxwealth Fund Management Company, both principal associates of OCBC. Before joining OCBC, he was Group Chief Risk Officer at DBS Bank and held several senior roles, including Group Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Institutional Banking Group in China. Tan is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Singapore.

Wong was appointed Group CEO of OCBC in April 2021 and Executive Director in February 2023. She is Chairman of OCBC China and holds Board roles at OCBC’s key subsidiaries, including OCBC Indonesia, OCBC Malaysia, OCBC Hong Kong, Bank of Singapore, and Great Eastern Holdings. She also chairs the Association of Banks in Singapore and serves on several national and industry panels. With over 40 years in banking, Wong began her career at OCBC before spending 27 years at HSBC, where she rose to CEO of Greater China. She returned to OCBC in 2020 as Deputy President and Head of Global Wholesale Banking. Wong holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Hong Kong.
