SEBI Issues Warning To HDFC Bank For Regulatory Violations

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has issued an administrative warning letter to HDFC Bank for regulatory non-compliance.

Following a periodic inspection of the bank’s custody activities, SEBI identified alleged non-compliance with certain regulatory guidelines applicable to custodians. HDFC Bank disclosed this in a regulatory filing, stating that it will take necessary steps to address the lapses mentioned in the letter.

This follows a previous administrative warning issued by SEBI to HDFC Bank in December 2024 regarding non-compliance related to merchant banking activities. The bank has stated its commitment to complying with regulatory requirements and addressing concerns raised by SEBI.
