
Pradeep Sinha Appointed As Independent Director Of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals & Reappoints Rajesh Desai As Independent Director
Pradeep Kumar Sinha has been appointed as Non-Executive Independent Director (Additional Director) of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited, effective February 14, 2025.
Rajesh Desai has been reappointed as Non-Executive Independent Director of the company with effect from June 26, 2025, and Dipankar Bhattacharjee has been reappointed as Non-Executive Independent Director with effect from August 14, 2025.
Pradeep Kumar Sinha served in Uttar Pradesh before moving to the Government of India, where he held key roles in the Power and Petroleum Ministries. He served as Cabinet Secretary for over four years before joining the Prime Minister’s Office, retiring in March 2021 after 44 years of service. He joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1977 after earning a master’s degree in economics from the Delhi School of Economics. He graduated in economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. While in service, Sinha completed an M.Phil. in Social Sciences in 1991 and was a Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford in 1999. He attended executive programs at Stanford University and Harvard University.
Rajesh Desai is a Chartered Accountant with over 38 years of experience. He served as the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Glenmark until 2016, overseeing finance, legal, and IT functions. He played a key role in the company’s growth. In 2020, he was appointed as an Independent Director at the company’s Annual General Meeting on September 29, for a five-year term from June 26, 2020, to June 25, 2025.
Dipankar Bhattacharjee has over three decades of global experience in the healthcare sector across North America, Europe, APAC, and MEA. He served as President & CEO of Global Generics Medicines at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and held senior leadership roles at Bausch & Lomb, Bank of America, and Nestlé. He currently advises investors on mergers and acquisitions in the European generics market. He was appointed as an Independent Director at the company’s Annual General Meeting in September 2020, for a five-year term from August 2020, to August 2025.
