Zomato Appoints Shalin Bhatt To Head Dining-Out Vertical

Zomato has appointed former executive Shalin Bhatt as the head of its dining-out vertical, effective immediately.

Bhatt, who rejoined Zomato in July 2024 after leaving in 2021, replaces Sankalp Kathuria, who resigned last month. Bhatt is the third head of dining at Zomato in over two years. The company is transitioning its dining-out users to its new District app, which integrates all going-out offerings.

Bhatt is an IIT Kharagpur and IIM Ahmedabad alumnus, previously served as Zomato’s head of growth. The dining-out vertical, including dining, live events, and ticketing, has grown significantly, with Zomato acquiring Paytm’s events business for Rs 2,048 crore. The company also appointed key personnel in Zomato Live and the going-out business segment.
